Rehabilitation And Upgrading Of Selected Streets In Northern Ghana

The Ministry of Roads and Highways, working through the Department of Urban Roads is undertaking the Rehabilitation and Upgrading of Selected Streets in Tamale and Yendi in the Northern Region; Nalerigu, Walewale and Gambaga in the North East Region; and Damongo in the Savannah Region.
Within the scope of works, the Project Contractor, QG Konstruktion AB, Sweden, presents a solution to resurface streets earmarked for this project providing proper functioning of the city road network. ADK Consortium Limited is the Construction Supervisor for this project that will run over an 18-Month period. Project commenced officially in March 2021 with asphalt overlays and repairs in the Walewale City.
The solution adopted is to maintain the same width of the street using a 6 cm layer of asphalt on all roads, repair the holes and new road signalization.
The scope of works shall cover:
- 40 km of roads in Tamale
- 10 km in WaleWale
- 10 km in Nalerigu
- 10 km in Gambaga
- 15 km in Damongo
- 15 km in Yendi
Works in described roads will include drainage works, asphalt overlay and Road Line Markings.
